Ronit Amit is a conservation researcher based at the University of Costa Rica, where she works at the intersection of ecology and the human dimensions of wildlife management. Her interests include felid conservation, human–wildlife coexistence, multi-stakeholder processes, participatory approaches, behavior change, and the integration of social sciences into conservation practice and policy. She has led and collaborated on projects that seek to strengthen coexistence through interdisciplinary research, community engagement, and applied conservation strategies. Ronit is also committed to teaching and mentoring, and to advancing more inclusive, socially informed, and practice-oriented approaches within conservation science. Incentives, contests, games, and arts are part of her toolbox for exploring how conservation can become more effective and locally meaningful. With her Latin American perspective, she is especially interested in collaborations that connect regions, compare contexts, and build stronger dialogue around the human dimensions of wildlife conservation.
