Diogo Veríssimo is a conservation social scientist at the University of Oxford, where he leads the Biodiversity and Behavioural Science Team (BBEST). His research sits at the intersection of biodiversity conservation, behavioural science, and social marketing, with a focus on understanding and influencing human behaviour as a key driver of environmental outcomes.

His work spans both conceptual development and applied interventions, including the use of digital tools to monitor and shape public engagement with biodiversity. His research emphasises evidence-based approaches, rigorous evaluation, and the design of interventions that are sensitive to the social contexts in which they are implemented.
