Thandiwe Mweetwa is a Zambian conservationist working as the Integrated Landscape & Custodianship Manager for the Frankfurt Zoological Society’s Nsumbu Tanganyika Conservation Programme (NTCP). She leads efforts to strengthen collaboration between communities, government, and conservation partners and to promote Human-Wildlife Coexistence across the Nsumbu-Mweru landscape.
With a background in wildlife biology and over a decade of experience, Thandiwe is deeply committed to community-centered conservation and is passionate about implementing inclusive approaches to protecting Zambia’s wildlife.
She is a National Geographic Explorer, an alumna of the Obama Foundation Leaders: Africa Program and a member of the Women for Environment (WE) Africa . Thandiwe holds a BSc in Applied Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia and an MSc in Natural Resources Conservation from the University of Arizona.
