The HWCCSG is consists of by a small staff and steering group, members, government focal points and working groups.

New members are appointed on a bi-annual basis by invitation only, and are based on double nominations and regular reviews of specific technical or regional gaps in the membership. Due to the voluntary nature of the SSC network, and the considerable activity portfolio and contributions of time by members, not all nominations can be accepted each year. More information about membership is available here.
